Check the specials. All store have specials. You can find them in the newspaper, or once get to the store (they also usually have unadvertised specials). Don’t buy the specials unless they’re things you need.

Don't buy sugar cereals. You spend lots of money for very little nutrition. Look for the whole grain cereals with low sugar. For better flavor, add fruit.

Be alert at the register and watch the scanner to catch any mis-priced items. Then review your receipt.

When a store has a great sale, stock up. Sale items can be a very good deal, *IF* it’s an item you normally use! If it is, buy a bunch.
